Authentic Relating (AR) is a skill set and embodied practice that-- in the words of ART International-- "empowers you to be more alive, awake and aware in all your relationships – with self, others, and the world." During the Hebrew month of Elul-- in which we are each encouraged to undertake a transformative journey of deeper connection with Self, Other, and Spirit-- Authentic Relating provides a profound pathway through self-awareness, personal growth, and conflict transformation, en route to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.

Over the course of three experiential, AR-infused sessions, we will explore the foundational "Five Practices" of Authentic Relating, and develop a toolkit for deepening our present-moment connections and relationships in all realms.

In our third and final session, we will begin to apply our Authentic Relating practices and principles towards greater fluency in conflict transformation using the “dance” of Relational Alchemy and Aikido, the applied-AR skill sets that allow us to navigate charged energy (whether coming towards us, or from us, or both!), in service of attaining equanimity between honoring Self and Other. When we practice these skills together with other willing participants, we have the opportunity to see how the Five Practices can help us manifest the Jewish imperative of tikkun olam– a.k.a. repairing the world (and our relationships within it)– from the inside out. While Authentic Relating is a practice that takes time to cultivate and internalize in our own mind-body-spirit, by the end of this workshop you will have a solid foundation for applying this powerful and transformative practice and skill set in all facets of your everyday life.
