Contemplative Practices for the Eighth Night of Hanukkah

In the Jewish mystical tradition, the eighth night of Hanukkah elevates us beyond the physical to see the spiritual light in all life and to become vessels of light.
5:00 pm: With mindful yoga and qi gong practices we will prepare ourselves to embody the radiant light of the present moment. Led by Scott Green
6:00 pm: Through guided meditation we will bring attention to the light within ourselves and in all being. Led by Rabbi Lavey Derby
6:45 pm: Contemplative Candle Lighting and Gazing Meditation

Shalem was created in 2012 by the Peninsula JCC and Embodied Jewish Learning and is now a collaborative partnership with the Addison-Penzak JCC and the Oshman Family JCC to promote wellness and well-being infused with Jewish wisdom to help support the entire community in times when these tools are greatly needed.
