Embodying Light and Rest
Presented by Julie Emden of Embodied Jewish Learning
Tuesdays, Oct 27, Nov 3, Nov 10
2:00-3:30pm at Kol Shofar
Kol Shofar and the Ilene Serlin Fund for Art and Culture is pleased to offer this series with Julie Emden, Director of Embodied Jewish Learning. Please join us for a wonderful and inspirational three-session workshop.
Do you seek balance, divine connection and inspiration in your day-to-day life? Join us as we embody inspiring teachings from the Jewish mystical tradition on light and rest in this season.
As we move through the Hebrew calendar from the month of Cheshvan into the month of Kislev we quiet and deepen ourselves into the realm of rest and dreams. And at the end of this season, we celebrate Hannukah, the festival of lights.
Embody the energies of rest, illumination and awakening. Each week we will explore different aspects of light and rest via embodied mindfulness, gentle movement, and free form dance, guided by carefully curated playlists, with open space and time for art-making, creative writing, and sharing in community.
This class is offered for everyone, all levels are welcome. No previous experience with dance or specific knowledge is required. Please wear comfortable loosely layered clothing in which you can easily move
We ask that you try to attend the full series. If this is not possible please note the dates which you cannot attend when you register.
