Embodied Teshuvah: Return of the Soul with Aliza Rothman & Kohenet Nancy Wolfson

The Ten Days of Awe between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur is a time when we seek to crack our heart open. It is a time that invites fierce, intentional transformation. How can we invite this? In his book This Is Real and You Are Completely Unprepared, Rabbi Alan Lew suggests that it is often through situations of discomfort that we experience true transformation. We will explore the concept of “appling” through cultivating deep awareness of an actual apple, and engage in a somatic practice of Open Floor dance as we embody Teshuvah during this potent time.

Aliza Rothaman is an Open Floor movement teacher and has a master's degree in counseling psychology & expressive arts therapy. She is passionate about exploring & embodying the Hebrew calendar through movement and dance. Aliza leads classes, groups and works with people individually.  Learn more about her work here.

Nancy Wolfson-Moche, CHHC, RYT-200, seeks to empower people to listen to their bodies through yoga, mindful cooking and eating, and other embodied practices. Nancy is the founder of you are because you eat, counseling and teaching health, wellness and life skills to students of all ages through cooking, culinary medicine and sacred culinary arts. Previously an editor and writer on lifestyle magazines, Nancy’s articles have appeared in scores of magazines and newspapers. She is an emerging Kohenet. For more about Nancy visit her website here.
