EJWN May [Iyar] Community Gathering
Embodying the Sefirot with Yoga Nidra:
A Healing Immersion
with Suzanne Coffey
Thursday, May 9th, 2024
10am PST | 1pm EST | 8pm ISR [90 mins]
During the month of Iyar, we continue The Counting of the Omer and aligning ourselves with the divine attributes (Sefirot) of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. Personally and collectively, we open to receive divine healing energy.
In this session, Suzanne will offer a very gentle movement practice to prepare the body for sacred rest: a guided yoga nidra meditative journey incorporating song and blessing. Please prepare a very comfortable place to lie down on the floor with a yoga mat and props (blanket(s), bolster, pillow for head, and optional eye pillow or mask), or plan to use a sofa or cozy chair. A glass of refreshing water, journal, and/or art supplies are recommended.
Suzanne is a recent graduate of Embodied Jewish Wisdom Advanced Teacher Training. She is also a certified yoga teacher (250 Hr), yoga nidra facilitator, Instinctive Meditation teacher, Somatic Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement (SATYA level 3) Instructor, and Movingness practitioner. She is currently working towards Jewish Mindfulness Mediation teacher certification with IJS. She has studied extensively with Kohenet Priestess Institute and OROT.
Suzanne enjoys weaving Jewish themed yoga nidra with chanting and prayer as well as leading Rosh Chodesh Circles. She is a long time member of Beth Emet Synagogue in Evanston, Illinois.
EJW Community Gatherings are offered monthly as part of the Embodied Jewish Wisdom Network. Become a member to attend these events live, or to view after, and connect with our growing community!
We gather once a month as close to Rosh Chodesh (the New Moon) as possible. Each month, different members of our collective guide us in creative, connective Jewish movement & embodied text study experiences. Embodiment modalities include Alexander Technique, Authentic Movement, Body-Mind Centering, Chanting, Dance, Embodied Mindfulness, Qi Gong, Yoga and more! Recordings are made available within one week of each event.
