“You have turned my mourning into dancing” - Psalm 30:11
Dancing our grief invites us into a conscious and creative relationship with our grief. In this carefully constructed 3-hour workshop we will engage in the Halprin Life/Art Process as we move, draw and dance our grief. In this time we will learn new tools and new perspectives to help us embody and relate to our grief and mourning as an ever-evolving, alive, moving transformative process. We will draw our grief, dance our grief, write our grief - BE with our grief, rather than be TAKEN OVER by it.
When we consciously and artistically engage with our grief, we are able to dis-identify and relate to the experience of mourning as universal, as timeless, as beautiful, and as something much greater than our individual broken-heartedness. Our grief becomes an ocean, a cave, a rock, a weight of unbearable burden, or any other personal metaphor that we can embody as we discover the gifts of connecting deeply to it, to ourselves, and being withnessed by one another.
This is a recurring workshop offered quarterly. Due to the sensitive nature of the content, these workshops are not recorded.
