Come deepen meaning and connection to the themes, practices and messages of Purim. Through creative inquiry, embodied intelligence and authentic expression you will reveal and integrate your vulnerability, courage and joy!

Karen is an Expressive Arts & Dance Movement Facilitator, a Certified Yoga instructor & Mindful Educator, and Integrative Creative Personal Growth Guide. She works with individuals and groups in the realms of embodied awareness, expressive movement and the creative arts – weaving in felt sense, narrative and emotional expression. She enjoys invoking the power of playful possibility, awakening the intelligence of the creative process and attuning to the wisdom of the body/mind/spirit to embolden and embrace the gifts of individuals and communities. Karen has worked with a wide variety of youth and adults through yoga studios, fitness centers, schools and community organizations. She has a Masters in Transpersonal Psychology specializing in dance/movement and creative expression. She was adjunct professor at Institute for Transpersonal Psychology masters program as well. In varying roles over 20+ years as a dancer/dance instructor/choreographer, art teacher, an educator and trainer, designing and delivering custom, creative and embodied programs and workshops. She has served ages Kindergarten through adults, including specialized programming for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia, developmental disability and eating disorder treatment as a Three year, full time staff member of a clinical mental health hospital’s residential team. Karen has always been a mover and feeler - able to tap into both the physical and metaphysical dimensions of experiences that make up the divine and earthly dance of our lives. She honors the impact of rituals and ceremony and acknowledges the importance of balancing care and attention to both our inner and outer worlds. Her passion is palpable for accompanying people in moments of seeking new means for moving through and making sense of life’s most challenging time’s, as well as, individuals wanting to reconnect to a more integrated whole, embodied, capable and beloved sense of self. Karen offers safe spaces, and multimodal approaches, to come back to true connection, to heal and to re-empower agency and belonging; activating a recovered sense of self, and inspiring new possibility for more constructive relationships with self, others, divinity and with the world around us. Karen is currently building new offerings through her group “The Embodied Doorway”. Having recently graduated from the EJW Advanced Teacher Training, she looks forward to weaving in Jewish wisdom and bringing this exploration and discovery to all who seek it.

We gather once a month as close to Rosh Chodesh (the New Moon) as possible. Each month, different members of our collective guide us in creative, connective Jewish movement & embodied text study experiences. Embodiment modalities include Alexander Technique, Authentic Movement, Body-Mind Centering, Chanting, Dance, Embodied Mindfulness, Qi Gong, Yoga and more! Recordings are made available within one week of each event.
